I love to BRUNCH! And I LOVE mimosas .

There’s just something about a mimosa before 5 on a fabulous Saturday or Sunday afternoon that gives me great joy.

One of the most darling parts of brunch is fellowshipping with my girls. We laugh , we cry, we laugh while crying , and day drink the entire time.

In addition to all of that, we absolutely expect an amazing meal. One of my co workers suggested that we try Katies in mid city New Orleans.

There was a very long wait for the table but once we were seated , we were served very quickly.

We started off with mimosas which were definitely more champagne than they were orange juice .

Pictured above are seafood stuffed mushrooms topped with mozzarella cheese. This dish did not have the best presentation but the quality of it and the taste was astounding. If I were to ever visit Katie’s again , it would be for the mushrooms and the mushrooms alone.

I ordered the blackened shrimp buck town Alfredo for the entree but substituted the shrimp for crawfish. As beautiful as this picture of my meal is, I was very displeased on how it taste. The pasta was very dry , the crawfish was not seasoned. Now I realize that substituting the crawfish for blackened shrimp could have possibly taken some flavor away from this meal but my pasta being dry was just inexplicable. I asked for a side of sauce but I was given a cup of something very thick and it only made the pasta worse.

Katie’s seems to be a place that is loved by locals , the restaurant was packed the entire time that I was there. But if we’re to ever visit again it would have to be when I have been plenty of time to wait and only a desire for drinks and appetizer.
