Most of my summers as a little girl were well spent in Franklinton, Louisiana with my grandparents. As this is a rural area and my grandparents were farmers, I spent plenty of mornings on the porch watching the sunrise with my maw maw. This taught me to truly appreciate the beauty in the sunrising. These days I sleep as late as I possible can which for me means rising shortly after the sun does.
This morning I had a flight to catch before dawn. I was groggy, exhausted from a long work week, and frustrated from running behind. And then something happened …. I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen , while in the sky!
The image granted me peace, and bought me back to those moments on the porch with my grandmother. It took me a moment to realize that all the negative emotions I felt had been evicted.
Just as the sunrises when the night ends, God will grant us peace after darkness passes. We must choose to evict negativity from our lives and accept the peace that we have been granted .
In that beautiful moment, we are free.
